A minor rape victim gave birth to a child in a hospital in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh and later died, police said on Wednesday. Police said that the victim, a resident of an area in Shimla district, was taken to the hospital on Tuesday and gave birth to a child in the hospital and later the victim died.

Newborn baby referred to IGMC Shimla

Police said that the newborn baby has been referred to IGMC, Shimla for treatment. Police said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim’s father, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).

The victim did not tell anything about the accused

The victim’s father said in his complaint that his daughter had complained of stomach pain, after which she was taken to the hospital and on receiving the ultrasound report, she was found to be seven months pregnant. According to the police, despite a lot of efforts by the family, the minor girl remained silent and did not tell anything about the accused.
