Rain is raining like a disaster in Himachal Pradesh. Once again, due to heavy rain, an incident of cloudburst has been reported from Mandi district. Many areas of Mandi were flooded. Cloudburst occurred in Jail Road and Hospital Road of Mandi, after which the whole city was flooded. Due to this, debris entered people’s houses. Many people have been rescued. 2 people died due to this flood.
Due to heavy rain at night, drain water entered residential areas due to landslide near District Hospital Mandi. Due to the debris, one floor of some houses collapsed inside the debris, in which people got trapped. Although people were rescued in time, but one person is still missing. Dozens of vehicles were swept away in the debris in Jail Road and many got buried in the debris.

Two national highways also closed
It has been raining continuously for several hours in Mandi. In such a situation, this rain is wreaking havoc on the people of Mandi. Due to this continuous heavy rain, problems are also being faced in removing debris and rescue operations. Two national highways have also been closed due to rain. These include the Chandigarh-Manali Highway and Pathankot-Mandi Highway, on which traffic has come to a complete halt since last night.
Landslides occurred at many places on these national highways, after which heavy debris accumulated on the roads and the roads were blocked. Debris has come on the roads at many places including Dwada, 4 Mile, Jhalogi 9 Mile on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway. Apart from this, landslides also occurred at many places on the Pathankot-Mandi National Highway, after which traffic on the highway came to a halt.
People trapped in the PWD department office
Not only Mandi’s Jail Road, many other places were also flooded suddenly. In Dharmpur subdivision, the drain outside the PWD department office got flooded after heavy rains, after which the people working in the office got stuck there. The department’s office is located downstream near the bridge. In such a situation, the office building got hit by the debris falling from the hill above the road at midnight and people got trapped inside. After a lot of hard work, people were rescued and taken out.
