Himachal Pradesh: In the cabinet meeting on Saturday, the government decided to recruit 700 home guards, charges will be levied for carrying plastic bottles in the parks of the state

Shimla: A big and unique decision has been taken in the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet meeting to curb plastic waste. Now if a person takes a plastic bottle or a packet of chips to some selected parks of the state, he will have to pay a fee. This amount will be refunded only when he throws the used plastic in the dustbin installed in the park. This system will be started as a pilot project and later, if it is successful, it can be implemented in other places as well.

How much charge will have to be paid is not yet decided

Cabinet Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said that how much charge will be levied has not been decided yet. Collection centers will be set up in some special areas. He said that whatever charge will be levied will be refundable. That is, the money will be refunded if you throw it in the dustbin after leaving the park.

Homeguards will be deployed in private hospitals

The Cabinet Minister also said that among other important decisions taken in the meeting, approval has been given to fill 700 posts of Home Guards. Under this, Home Guard jawans will now be deployed in government hospitals instead of private security agencies, which will not only provide better security but will also provide employment to the youth.

200 Panchayat Secretaries of Zila Parishad Carder will be regularized

The Cabinet has also approved the regularization of 200 Panchayat Secretaries of Zila Parishad Carder who have completed two years of contract. Earlier their salary was Rs 12 thousand per month, which has now been increased to Rs 32 thousand. Apart from this, a decision has also been taken to shift the office of RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) from Shimla to Dharamshala and prepare a fresh reservation roster for the elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Approval to amendment in PG/SS policy

The Cabinet approved amendment in the Postgraduate/Specialist Service (PG/SS) policy, withdrawing the mandatory requirement of one year of field posting before eligibility for senior residency in Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda. This decision has been taken in line with the policy adopted at AIIMS, Chamiyana.
