IMD Weather Update Today: Due to western disturbance, the weather pattern has changed in many states of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in the adjoining areas of Northeast and Eastern India till February 23. There is a yellow alert of hailstorm with heavy rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Due to the influence of Western Disturbance, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall activities may be seen in the Western Himalayan region from 24 to 26 February.

Chances of rain in these states also
Meanwhile, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh may receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of hailstorm in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. According to the information received, during the last 24 hours there was heavy rain along with strong winds in many states including UP, Bihar. Due to this, crops have also been damaged.

Alert of heavy snowfall in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, Arunachal Pradesh may receive heavy rain or snowfall today and tomorrow (February 23). There may be heavy rain or snowfall in Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya today i.e. 22 February. Talking about Bihar, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the state tomorrow and the day after.

How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR today?
National Capital Region Delhi is expected to remain cloudy today with light rain and thundershowers. The minimum and maximum temperatures in Delhi-NCR on Thursday are expected to be around 11 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

Avalanche warning in Himachal Pradesh
After snowfall and rain once again occurred in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, officials have issued avalanche warning in many areas today. Chandigarh-based Defense Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE) has issued an avalanche warning till Thursday in the high altitude areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla, Chamba and Kullu districts.
