A 23-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a local resident in northeast Delhi’s Jafrabad area following a dispute over a loan of Rs 2,000, an official said on Thursday. The accused, his elder brother and his father were arrested hours after the incident, police said. The incident took place at 12.10 am when Fardeen demanded the return of Rs 2,000 he had borrowed from the accused, Aadil, the official said. “The Jafrabad police station received information about a stabbing incident and on reaching JPC hospital, officers found that Fardeen was brought to the hospital by his father and was declared dead by doctors,” a senior police official said.
Young man killed for demanding return of loaned money
Initial investigation revealed that Fardeen and his friend Javed were standing near a lane when Aadil, who had earlier borrowed Rs 2,000 from them, came. When Fardeen asked Adil to return his money, he allegedly got angry and took out a knife and attacked the two youths. He fled after the incident. Police said Adil’s brother Kamil and their father Shakeel were also present at the spot and instigated Adil to attack the two youths. Officials said the forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected evidence.

A case has been registered in this connection under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Delhi Police later arrested three people in connection with the incident. Police said, “Several teams gathered clues and arrested the three accused – Adil (30), Kamil (28) and their father Shakeel (58). During interrogation, all three confessed to their involvement in the crime. The knife used in the attack has also been recovered from them.” The officer said, “Adil has a criminal history in three cases earlier, while Kamil has cases registered against him in four cases.”
