A shocking incident has come to light in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. An SP leader was ordered a chicken roll instead of a veg roll from the online food delivery app Swiggy. Consumers are deeply upset by the city’s renowned restaurant, Tandoori Darbar, for allegedly tampering with religious sentiments during Navratri. They have filed a complaint with the consumer forum. Instead of two paneer rolls, the restaurant sent one paneer roll and one chicken roll.
The incident occurred in Hussainabad, located next to the Collectorate in the Line Bazaar police station area. Amit Yadav, National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party’s Mazdoor Sabha, had ordered a paneer roll from the Swiggy app. This order was placed at the city’s renowned restaurant, Tandoori Darbar. However, Amit was subjected to such negligence that his 23 years of devotion were shattered. His entire family is devastated. Instead of two paneer rolls, Tandoori Darbar sent him one paneer roll and one chicken roll.
Chicken rolls instead of paneer rolls
Amit Yadav explained that he ordered two paneer rolls through the Swiggy app on Friday afternoon at the request of his son, Arihant. He paid ₹150 for them. However, upon receiving the order, he was shocked to find that instead of two paneer rolls, he was sent one paneer roll and one chicken roll.
23 Years of Austerity Were Broken
The victim explained that 23 years ago, he had given up non-vegetarian food at his mother’s behest. Following his mother’s advice, Amit’s entire family began living a vegetarian and sattvic lifestyle. Upon Friday’s delivery of the order through the Swiggy app, he opened the parcel to find a paneer roll and a chicken roll. The chicken roll went to Amit, while the paneer roll went to his son. Upon seeing the chicken roll, Amit and his family were deeply hurt by the memories of their deceased mother. Upon receiving the complaint, Swiggy refunded only one roll, apologized for the mistake, and promised not to repeat it again.
Complaint filed with Consumer Forum
Victim Amit Yadav told RBNEWS that Swiggy’s careless delivery of chicken rolls during the sacred season of Navratri has hurt his religious sentiments. His entire family is deeply saddened by this. They have filed a complaint with the Consumer Forum. Amit said that even roadside egg vendors are removed during Navratri, but large companies and hotel owners openly tamper with religious beliefs. Strict action should be taken against such individuals.
