One such incident occurred in West Singhbhum district, where five men gang-raped an 11-year-old girl returning from a fair. The girl pleaded to be let off, but the accused showed no mercy.
The shameful gang-rape of a girl occurred in the Jagannathpur police station area of West Singhbhum district. On Friday night, the 11-year-old girl was returning home with her brother after watching the Jhumar fair held at the Bandana festival in the Himundui grounds of the Jagannathpur police station area. Five young men surrounded the siblings on a deserted road. Blinded by lust, the young men raped the girl one by one.

The minor victim kept screaming and screaming, but it had no effect on the perpetrators. After committing the crime, the five accused fled the scene. The next morning, the girl managed to reach home and informed her family about her ordeal. Upon receiving the news, the family was devastated. The villagers were also shaken by the incident. The family rushed to the police station and filed a complaint against the accused.
Four accused arrested, search for the fifth continues
Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, the police took immediate action and arrested four accused, identified as Jakraj Sardar, Chotrai Sardar, Ravi Sardar, and Bdio Sardar. The fifth accused involved in the gang rape remains at large. Police teams are conducting raids at possible hideouts to apprehend him. The victim’s family and villagers are deeply enraged by the child’s gang rape. They are demanding strict action against the accused.
