Despite all the obstacles and family opposition, Pratibha eloped and married Ambarish in a temple.
Petrol set on fire
As soon as Pratibha’s family learned of their daughter’s elopement, their anger reached its peak. They went to Ambarish’s house and created a ruckus. During this time, they also took their daughter’s clothes, stationery, and books. Pratibha’s parents poured petrol on these items and set them on fire. Meanwhile, Ambarish’s mother, Bayamma, left, and Pratibha’s parents poured petrol on Bayamma and set her on fire as well.
The boy’s mother is in critical condition.
The incident caused panic in the area. People present at the scene managed to control the fire with great difficulty and rushed the woman to the hospital, but by then she had suffered severe burns. Ambareesh’s mother, who was seriously injured, has been admitted to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru, where her condition remains critical. Meanwhile, the Patpalya police station in Bagepalli taluk has registered a case against Pratibha’s parents and is investigating.
