A man named Mohammad Khan voluntarily converted to Hinduism and returned home, now known as “Mahadev.” His remarkable story has become a topic of discussion, as he himself revealed that Lord Shiva appeared to him in a dream and prompted his conversion.

Mohammad Khan, a resident of Khandwa district, explained, “One night, I had a dream in which Lord Shiva appeared. He blessed me and said, ‘Return to your original religion and serve me.’ After this dream, my life changed completely. In the morning, I resolved to dedicate my life to the worship of Lord Shiva.”

Voluntary Homecoming

The very next day, Mohammad Khan arrived at Khandwa’s ancient Mahadevgarh temple and announced his voluntary conversion to Hinduism before priests and devotees. Temple head Ashok Paliwal and numerous devotees were present on the occasion. Mahadevgarh head Ashok Paliwal said, “This isn’t the first time someone has returned home to the Mahadevgarh temple. Many people have voluntarily returned to their original religion before, but Mohammad’s story is truly remarkable because it’s linked to a sign from God.”

Chants of “Har Har Mahadev” echoed through the temple.

When Mohammad Khan accepted Hinduism with the rituals, the temple premises reverberated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” A special havan and puja were performed at the temple. He himself said, “I have made this decision not under any pressure, but by my own will and God’s command. Now I will spend my life at the feet of Mahadev.”
