The ongoing power-sharing dispute in Congress-ruled Karnataka shows no signs of abating. Recently, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah invited Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to a breakfast meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, after which both leaders issued a statement stating that there were no longer any differences. However, Siddaramaiah clarified that the meeting was held at the behest of the party high command. He stated that he would do whatever the high command dictated.

Just two days after this meeting, DK Shivakumar caused a stir in state politics today (November 1) by posting on Instagram. He has now invited the Chief Minister for breakfast. DK Shivakumar invited Siddaramaiah to a breakfast meeting

It should be noted that there has been a long-standing tussle between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar over the Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka. A high-profile breakfast meeting was held in Bengaluru on Saturday (November 29) to resolve this issue. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had stated that the party leadership had asked him and Shivakumar to sit together and discuss over breakfast. The party high command had called this meeting to control the situation and resolve the issue, but now DK Shivakumar himself has invited the Chief Minister of the state to a breakfast meeting.

After the breakfast meeting with Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar said, “With your support, we have brought the Congress government to power, and we are working as promised. The people of the state are giving their full support. We have to fulfill their wishes. We are working in that direction. We will follow whatever the high command says, and there is no factionalism. We are still working together.”
