IND vs PAK: There is a ruckus in Maharashtra regarding the cricket match between India and Pakistan to be held in Dubai today. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sharad Koli has threatened all the hotel owners of the state that if they do live streaming of the match, their hotels will be demolished. This threat has been given through a video, in which Koli is also holding a cricket bat in his hand.
What is in the threatening video?
Sharad Koli is a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader from Solapur. His threatening video is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, he is saying, “A match between India and Pakistan is going to be held in Dubai. The match is going to be held with that sinful Pakistan, which has wiped off the vermilion of the sisters of our country and Maharashtra.” He further said, “I request all the hotel owners of Maharashtra with folded hands that Pakistan’s match should not be shown in any hotel of Maharashtra. If you love the country, then you will not do live streaming of this match in your hotel.”
After this, Kohli warned in a threatening tone, “If any hotel owner or operator shows the India-Pakistan match, then remember, his hotel will be broken with this bat. And the hotel owner and director themselves will be responsible for this.”
“No moral right to oppose the match”
At the same time, Shinde’s Shiv Sena on Saturday targeted Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for opposing the India-Pakistan cricket match and claimed that when the Congress was in power, the two countries played cricket matches amid tense relations. In fact, Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday that playing a cricket match with Pakistan is an insult to the national sentiment, because Indian soldiers are sacrificing their lives on the border.
Speaking at a press conference, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena’s spokesperson and MP Naresh Mhaske said, “Shiv Sena-UBT has no moral right to oppose the match. Even during the Congress era, international cricket matches were played between India and Pakistan, even when the relations were strained.” He said Thackeray has given up Hindutva for power and praises Pakistan, so he cannot suddenly oppose such matches. “Unless terrorism stops, cordial relations cannot be established between the two countries. Playing Asia Cup matches does not mean a change in policy. The doors of IPL are still closed for Pakistani players. Such matches have always been played in international competitions, including the World Cup,” the Shiv Sena MP said.
