The guiding principles that the Constituent Assembly had set for us include the Uniform Civil Code. There should be a Uniform Civil Code. ”
Experiment in Uttarakhand

The law made by the Uttarakhand government should be socially and legally scrutinised. Religious leaders should also be consulted. What I mean to say is that there should be a wide debate on this and after this wide debate, it should be decided whether to make some changes in the model law made by the Uttarakhand government or not. Because someone will definitely go to the court. The opinion of the judiciary will also come to the fore.”
The civil code will be implemented within five years
He had said, “After that, the legislatures of the country and the Parliament should think seriously about it and yes, a law should definitely be made. That is why we have kept it in our manifesto.
