The tension between India and Canada is increasing over the Nijjar murder case. Canada has once again accused India of plotting this murder. A Canadian newspaper has written in its report that India’s top leadership was aware of the conspiracy to kill Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canadian security agencies had informed India about this murder.
At the same time, now India has denied this report of the Canadian newspaper. The Indian Foreign Ministry said that this report of the Canadian media is defaming India. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that we reject such a statement. This is a kind of ridiculous statement. Such statements further damage our tense relations.
The Indian Foreign Ministry has been constantly rejecting Canada’s allegation of Nijjar murder case. Just a few days ago, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Canadian government has not shared any information with us since September 2023. There is a difference between Canada’s words and actions. Canada made serious allegations against India but has not yet provided any evidence. PM Trudeau has also admitted to not giving evidence to India.
Trudeau has admitted to not giving evidence to India
Amidst the sourness in relations, Justin Trudeau had admitted that he did not give evidence related to Nijjar’s murder to India. Trudeau said that he had only given intelligence information to India in the case related to Nijjar murder and not any concrete evidence. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in Surrey, Canada on June 18 last year. India has rejected all the allegations of Canada in this case. Recently, the Indian Foreign Ministry also accused PM Trudeau of vote bank politics.
