India-China have started withdrawing troops from Demchok and Depsang on the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Temporary infrastructure like sheds, tents are also being removed. The soldiers of both the countries will completely withdraw from here by October 28-29.

Soldiers of both sides will return to the situation before April 2020. They will patrol the areas where they patrolled till April 2020. The new agreements will apply only to Depsang and Demchok, not to other places.

 

Military sources say that the soldiers of India and China will completely withdraw from Dempchok and Depsang by 28-29 October. After disengagement, there will be meetings of ground commanders. To avoid any kind of misunderstanding during patrolling, both sides will be told when we are going to patrol.

 

Patrolling will start by the end of this month

Sources say that along with disengagement, temporary infrastructure like sheds or tents will be removed from both places. Both sides will monitor the area. In talks with China, a decision has been taken only for Depsang and Demchok. The armies of India and China will start patrolling their respective patrolling points by the end of this month. In June 2020, there was a conflict between the soldiers of both the countries in Galwan. Due to this, there was tension in the relations.

A few days ago, an agreement was reached between India and China regarding the withdrawal of troops and patrolling near the LAC in eastern Ladakh. This is a big success towards ending the confrontation between the two countries. Recently, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had said that the agreement was finalized after the talks held in the last few weeks. This agreement will resolve the issues that arose in 2020.

 

Consensus is pending on these buffer zones

Consensus is pending on the buffer zones in Galwan, the northern shore of Pangong, the Kailash Range and the Gogra-Hot Spring area. After disengagement, buffer zones were created at these four places, which range from 3 to 10 kilometers. No one can patrol in these. Sources say that the talks are on the right track, due to which talks can also move forward to end the buffer zone and start patrolling.
