India has sent humanitarian aid to Lebanon, a West Asian country caught in a war with Israel. The Government of India has announced to send 33 tonnes of essential goods to Lebanon, out of which the first consignment of 11 tonnes has been sent today on Friday. The remaining consignment will be sent soon.

A humanitarian crisis has arisen in Lebanon, which is caught in the war between Israel and Hezbollah. Many families have been displaced due to the war, due to which Lebanon needs humanitarian aid. The country’s health system has been affected the most due to the war.

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the news of sending aid and said that sending aid to Lebanon is part of India’s comprehensive campaign, under which humanitarian aid is given to any country in times of crisis.

Most of the medicines were sent
Most of the aid sent to Lebanon consists of life-saving medicines, which are most needed by the war-affected country at this time. The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said that this aid will be sent to those places which are most affected due to the war.

Lebanon is not at war with Israel directly, but it is also bearing the brunt of this war due to the Shia armed group Hezbollah. The Israel-Hezbollah war has brought an already bankrupt Lebanon into the worst phase of humanitarian crisis.
