India-Oman: Bilateral talks took place in many areas including trade, energy, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has talked to Omani counterpart Albusaidi in this regard.

Muscat: The friendship between India and Oman is now going to reach a new level. India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday held extensive discussions with his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi on bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and energy security. This is expected to lead to agreement on major agreements between the two countries in many areas.

Let us tell you that Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has reached Muscat, the capital of Oman, to participate in the Eighth Indian Ocean Conference. Jaishankar posted on ‘X’, “It was a great pleasure to meet Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi this morning. (I) appreciate his personal efforts in successfully hosting the Eighth Indian Ocean Conference.” He wrote, “We had a comprehensive discussion on mutual cooperation on trade, investment and energy.”

70 years of India-Oman relations
Let us tell you that 70 years of diplomatic relations between India and Oman have been completed. In such a situation, both the leaders jointly released the logo on the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations. They also jointly released a book titled ‘Mandvi to Muscat: Indian Community and Shared History of India and Oman’. The Oman government says that the number of Indians living in its country in August 2024 is around 664,783.
