India is continuously responding to the missile and drone attacks being carried out by Pakistan. Amid this situation of tension, PIA flight has made an emergency landing in Pakistan. The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has once again imposed an air emergency across the country, suspending all flight operations. The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has issued an immediate order to completely close all petrol and diesel filling stations for 48 hours.
India’s response to Pakistan’s drone attacks
Pakistan has taken this step after more drone attacks on India’s northern and western borders. When Pakistan increased the number of drone attacks, targeting military infrastructure at 26 locations from Leh in the north to Sir Creek in the south. Many of the targeted places included major airfields, military bases and airport facilities. India successfully thwarted each attack.
Pakistan tried to attack India with 300 to 400 drones on the night of 8-9 May. These have been initially identified as Turkish-made Asisgard Songar models. Many of these drones were intercepted using kinetic and electronic warfare systems including Barak-8 and S-400 Triumf missile defense platforms, Akash SAM and indigenous anti-drone technology.
Shahbaz called a meeting
According to news agency Reuters, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the National Command Authority on Saturday. According to Reuters, this NCA meeting has been called as another step amid all-round attacks on India.
The NCA is the top decision-making body on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. This NCA meeting took place after Pakistan launched Operation Banyan-un-Marsoos in response to India’s military action against terrorists on Friday night.
