India-Saudi Arabia joint military exercise concludes today, 12-day military exercise aims to familiarize each other with operational procedures and battle drills between the two armies in counter-terrorism operations

The first joint military exercise named ‘Sada Tanseeq’ between the Indian Army and Royal Saudi Land Force was successfully completed at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. Public Relations Officer (Defence) Colonel Amitabh Sharma said in a statement that the objective of the joint exercise was to enhance mutual cooperation between the two armies, sharing their working methods in war tactics, techniques and procedures. He told that in this joint exercise, a group of 45 soldiers of the 20th Battalion of the Brigade of Guards Regiment of India and a group of 45 soldiers of the Royal Saudi Land Force of Saudi Arabia were involved.

Exercise conducted in two phases
Sharma said that this exercise was conducted in two phases. The first phase focused on combat exercises and tactical training. The second phase involved physical exercises and exchange of technical information. Both contingents jointly participated in operational procedures and war exercises including construction of a temporary operating base, establishment of an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance grid and a mobile vehicle check post and cordon-and-search operations, heliborne operations and house intervention. 12 day military exercise
Both countries conducted a 12-day military exercise from 29 January to 9 February under the United Nations mandate. The objective of which was to acquaint each other with the operational procedures and war exercises between the two armies in anti-terrorism operations. During this exercise, emphasis was laid on better coordination so that the armies of both the countries could participate in the joint mission against terrorism and eliminate it.

Closing ceremony of joint exercise today
In Exercise Sada Tanseeq, the Royal Saudi Land Force and Indian Army platoons participated in professional and sporting competitions with high spirit, creating tremendous team spirit and camaraderie. Colonel Amitabh Sharma said that the closing ceremony of this joint exercise will be organized today (February 9) in which there will be an opportunity to honor the outstanding soldiers and exchange the exercises learned by both the contingents.
