India will celebrate 75th Republic Day on the path of duty, will showcase women power and military power; Know what will be special

India is gearing up for a momentous platinum celebration of the country’s Republic Day with an eye-catching display of its military might and rich cultural heritage on the duty path in the national capital Delhi on Friday.

President Draupadi Murmu will lead the country in the Amrit Kaal Yatra, which began after the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations to commemorate 75 years of the country’s independence. Developed India’s rich cultural diversity, ‘self-reliant’ military prowess and growing women power are the major themes of the 90-minute parade, which will be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron as the chief guest.

Republic Day Parade will start at 10.30 am

Let us tell you that for the first time only women tri-service contingent is marching on the path of duty. Women pilots representing Nari Shakti will also entertain the audience during the fly-past of the Indian Air Force. Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) contingents will also include only women personnel. The parade will begin with more than 100 women artistes playing Indian musical instruments. The parade will start with music like conch, nadaswaram, nagara etc. played by these women artists. The ceremonial event will witness an excellent display of the country’s defense forces with a thrilling display of mechanized columns, state-of-the-art equipment, marching contingents and a display of mighty cavalry in the country’s diverse culture and unity in diversity.

Based on the twin themes of ‘Developed India and India – Mother of Democracy’, this year’s parade will be attended by around 13000 special guests. An initiative that will provide an opportunity to people from all walks of life to participate in it. Celebrate and encourage public participation in this national festival. The Republic Day parade will start at 10.30 am and will last for about 90 minutes.

The celebrations will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the National War Memorial, where he will lead the nation in paying tribute to the martyred heroes by laying a wreath. Thereafter, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries will proceed to the salute stage on the duty path to view the parade. Will go. President Murmu and his French counterpart Macron will then be escorted by the President’s Body Guard, the most senior regiment of the Indian Army. This Republic Day is special for this distinguished regiment, which has completed 250 years of service since its raising in 1773.

Traditional carriage will be the center of attraction

The Defense Ministry said both presidents will arrive in ‘traditional carriages’, a practice which is returning after a gap of 40 years. The national flag will be hoisted after the national anthem with a 21-gun salute given by the indigenous gun system 105-mm Indian Field Gun. Four Mi-17 IV helicopters of 105 Helicopter Unit will shower flowers on the spectators present on the duty path. This will be followed by ‘Aavahan’ band performance, symbolizing women power, in which more than 100 women artistes will participate playing various types of percussion instruments. After this the parade will start with President Murmu taking the salute. The parade will be commanded by Parade Commander Lieutenant General Bhavneesh Kumar, General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area. The duty path will witness the march past of the combined band and marching contingent of the French Armed Forces.

The 30-member band contingent will be led by Captain Khurda, followed by a 90-member marching contingent which will be led by Captain Noel. A multi-role tanker transport aircraft and two Rafale fighter aircraft of the French Air and Space Force will fly over the troops as they proceed from the saluting platform. A 95-member marching squad and 33-member band squad of France will also take part in the parade.

Contingents of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, CAPF, Delhi Police, NCC and NSS will march on the duty path. Tableaux of 16 states and nine ministries will also participate. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Culture will present the cultural program ‘Vande Bharatam’ on the theme ‘Cultural expression of women power – determination to accomplishment’ for the third consecutive year. Around 1,500 women dancers will enthrall the audience with their colorful performance giving the message of unity in diversity. The grand performance includes 30 folk dance styles uniquely prevalent in different states as well as contemporary classical dance and Bollywood styles. The performers include tribal dancers, folk dancers and classical dancers.

The Ministry of Culture will showcase the textile installation ‘Anant Sutra – The Endless Thread’ on the duty path during the parade. Installed behind the audience seated in enclosures, the unique installation is a visually-stunning tribute to the sari, India’s timeless gift to the fashion world.
