Washington: An Indian-American CEO has been arrested in the luxury brothel scam. He is accused of paying Rs 50,000 per hour for sex with Asian women. The arrested accused Anurag Bajpai is the CEO of Gradient, a clean water startup in the US. The Indian-origin man is accused of paying for sex services at top brothels earlier this year.
Anurag Bajpai is reportedly one of more than 30 doctors, lawyers and government officials named in court documents in connection with the sex scandal. These high-end clients allegedly paid $600 per hour for services. It is being said that these women were mostly Asian and were victims of sex trafficking.
Anurag Bajpai had created a new milestone in the water purification case
Anurag Bajpai has been included in Scientific American’s annual list of top 10 world-changing ideas in water purification technology. He has become an iconic personality in this field. After such serious allegations against him, some employees of Gradient have now demanded the removal of Bajpayee from the post of CEO. On this, the company has issued a statement saying that it has faith in the justice system. It is believed that this matter will be resolved favorably in due time.
Anurag belongs to Lucknow
Born in India, Anurag Bajpayee belongs to Lucknow. Anurag did his studies from La Martiniere College here. Later, he received a master’s and PhD in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2008 and 2012 respectively. His company Gradient was born out of MIT and currently has a market valuation of over $1 billion. Gradient has brought solutions for semiconductor, pharmaceuticals and other industries.
