Israel’s National Security Minister Ben Gvir has been seriously injured in a car accident. Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has been taken to hospital with minor injuries after a car crash, Israeli police say. The footage on social media shows a car which has overturned. Many people are seen gathered there. A large convoy of vehicles can also be seen at the spot.
According to Reuters, the police statement said that the circumstances leading to the incident are being investigated. Israeli media said Ben-Gvir was returning after a stabbing incident in the city of Ramle, near Tel Aviv. Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom said an 18-year-old woman was seriously injured in that incident. Ben-Gvir is considered a controversial member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency government.
Ben-Gvir had made this announcement against Iran
Ben Gvir recently called for a full-scale military response by Israel against Iran following Tehran’s missile and drone attacks on Israel. Iran carried out the attack in response to Israel’s airstrike on Tel-Aviv that killed senior Iranian military personnel at the Iranian Consulate in Syria. Ben-Gvir has also advocated the transfer of Palestinians from Gaza and supported calls for the reestablishment of Jewish settlements there.
