In Jaipur, robbers once again displayed audacious behavior last night. A businessman from Tonk was held captive in a car, beaten, and forced at knifepoint to withdraw approximately 2 lakh rupees from an ATM. After the incident, the robbers abandoned the businessman near the Ring Road on Tonk Road and fled.

According to reports, Vinod Jain, a stationery businessman from Tonk, had come to Jaipur on Saturday (December 13) for work related to his business. Around 8:30 PM, he was waiting for a bus at the Sanganer bus stand to return to Tonk. At that moment, a Swift Dzire car stopped there. Vinod, along with two other people already in the car, boarded it to go to Tonk. Two young men were already inside the car.

About 10 minutes later, the men in the car suddenly held a knife to Vinod’s neck and demanded money for drugs. They then tied his hands and feet, blindfolded him, covered him with a blanket, and began searching his pockets. Upon finding his ATM card, the robbers started beating him to force him to reveal his PIN number.

Robbers kidnapped Vinod at knifepoint
The robbers took Vinod to a secluded area, where they threatened to kill him if he didn’t reveal the PIN number. During the struggle, he sustained an injury to his finger from the knife. The robbers then snatched his mobile phone and switched it off. Under constant fear and beatings, Vinod was forced to reveal his ATM PIN number.

Robbers roamed Jaipur for 5 hours after the kidnapping
The robbers then withdrew approximately 2 lakh rupees from ATMs in different parts of the city three times. During this time, Vinod was held captive in the car and driven around the streets of Jaipur for about five hours. It is alleged that the robbers also threatened to call his family and demand a ransom of 50 lakh rupees, which completely broke Vinod down, and he began pleading with them.

Police launch investigation after victim files complaint.
At around 1:30 AM, the assailants pushed him near the Ring Road on Tonk Road and fled. Vinod somehow managed to reach a nearby petrol pump and informed his family. His family arrived at the scene late at night and took him with them. The process of filing a police report by the victim is currently underway. The police are investigating the matter.
