Jaipur: In the Doongri police station area, a maid, along with her accomplices, held her elderly mistress hostage and fled with cash and jewellery worth lakhs.

A shocking case of robbery has come to light from Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur. A maid in the city held her elderly mistress hostage and escaped with cash and jewellery worth lakhs.

According to information received from the police, Nepali maid Savitri, who was hired 10 days ago without verification, is involved in this robbery. Savitri, along with her three companions, escaped with 12 lakh cash and jewellery worth 50 lakhs.

The gate was not locked

The police said that the incident took place on Moti Moti Dungri Kanota Bagh Devi Path in Jaipur. The Nepali maid had not locked the main gate with the intention of robbery. In such a situation, on Monday, January 20, at 11:35 pm, two companions of Savitri came inside the colony from gate no. 3 and both hid in the stairs at the back of the house. In such a situation, at 1 am, all three attacked.

Maid looted 62 lakhs

The miscreants held Manju Kothari (75) and servant Sandeep from UP and Pratima from West Bengal hostage in the house and beat them up. Then they looted 12 lakh rupees in cash and jewellery worth about 50 lakh rupees from the cupboard. A partner of the miscreants was standing with a cab at some distance from the house, in which all of them fled. After the incident, Savitri fled with the miscreants in a cab. The robbers also took away the mobile phones of the victim woman and both the servants. Two hours after the miscreants left, the servant Sandeep somehow freed himself and informed the house driver Moti Singh about the incident on a landline phone at 4 am on Tuesday.

ID was asked several times

Moti freed everyone and informed the police about the incident. The police have registered a report and started checking the nearby CCTV. On the other hand, the victim Manju Kothari is in shock after the incident. Police said that Manju, Sandeep and Pratima were sleeping in the same room, while Savitri was sleeping in the hall of the house. Savitri was hired as a maid by Amit, an acquaintance of Manju Kothari. Savitri was asked for her ID several times, but she always kept postponing it.
