Jammu Kashmir Assembly Election: After tough discussions in Jammu and Kashmir, the seats for the alliance between the National Conference and the Congress have finally been divided. In which there will be a friendly contest between the two parties on 6 seats to end the dispute. In view of this meeting of the National Conference and the Congress, there was a lot of hustle and bustle near Farooq Abdullah’s Gupkar residence since Monday morning.

During this time, Farooq’s residence remained a center of attraction not only for media personnel but also for various small and big parties of supporters of National Conference leaders. The first round of this meeting started at 12:30 pm, while no result was clear till 3 pm. However, sources still expressed the possibility of the alliance being completed.

Meeting at Farooq Abdullah’s residence

After this, the time for the second meeting was given at 4 pm. At the same time, when no leader of the Congress high command reached Farooq Abdullah’s residence after 4 pm, the market of speculation started heating up about the formation or breaking of the alliance. However, at around 6:30 pm all the Congressmen reached Farooq Abdullah’s residence. In which senior Congress leaders KC Venugopal, Salman Khurshid, Pawan Khera and Bharat Singh Solanki were present.

A meeting was held again for about an hour at Farooq Abdullah’s residence, after which a press conference was held. Farooq Abdullah, Congress’s Tariq Hameed Karra, KC Venugopal, Salman Khurshid, Pawan Khera and Bharat Singh Solanki were present in the press conference to give information about the meeting.

NC will contest on 50 and Congress on 32 seats

Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra said that both the parties National Conference will contest on 50 seats and Congress on 32 seats. Also, CPI (M) and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) have been given one seat each. At the same time, in this meeting, both agreed to fight a friendly contest on 6 seats.

When asked about the friendly contest, Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra said that the candidates of both the parties will contest on these seats. Voting for a total of 24 seats will be held on September 18 for the first phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
