Assembly elections are going to be held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370, for which all the parties are seen gearing up. BJP has bet on Muslim candidates, while Congress has formed an alliance with the National Conference, but the former Chief Minister of the state Ghulam Nabi Azad has claimed that the promises of all the parties are hollow and that this time a government with full majority will not be formed in the state.
Former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the claims made by all the parties in the elections are hollow, although my health was bad, we are not able to do what we wanted to do in these elections, but here we have fielded 20 to 22 youth, for whom I have come on an election rally tour. It is hoped that the public will crown our candidates with victory.
Elections could have been held three times
He further said that we are saddened by the fact that elections could have been held three times in these 10 years and the special state status of Jammu and Kashmir was taken away. We are very sad about that. I had also said in my speech in Rajya Sabha that the status of the state should be restored, today the Prime Minister and Home Minister are speaking about the same in the meetings.
Development and employment
Apart from this, Ghulam Nabi Azad said about the bail of engineer Rashid that it is a good thing that he got bail and if anyone is innocent, he should also be given bail by the government. The government has done a lot of work on terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir but terrorism has definitely increased since some time. Ghulam Nabi Azad said that our aim in Jammu and Kashmir is to serve the people and our agenda is development and giving employment to the youth.
