Jammu and Kashmir: Landslide occurred in Banihal, Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority issued avalanche warning for two districts of Kashmir Valley in the next 24 hours.

Landslide has occurred in Banihal, Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, traffic has been stopped on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Giving information in this regard, Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police said that a massive landslide has occurred in Kishtwari Pather. Due to this NH-44 has been closed. People are appealed to avoid travelling.

On the other hand, JKDMA (Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority) issued avalanche warning for two districts of Kashmir Valley. JKDMA said that avalanches may occur in the higher reaches of two districts of the valley in the next 24 hours.

Possibility of avalanche in Kupwara and Ganderbal
He said that in the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of avalanche above 2400 meters in Kupwara in North Kashmir and Ganderbal in Central Kashmir. People living in these areas are advised to exercise caution and avoid avalanche prone areas until further advisory.

Helpline numbers issued for people
Along with this, the authorities have also issued helpline numbers for the people living in these districts. People can contact number 112 for help in any emergency. Let us tell you that there has been heavy rain and snowfall in some areas in the Kashmir Valley in the last two days.
