CM Omar Abdullah: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stressed on making Jammu a ‘tourism hub’ i.e. a major destination for tourists. He especially mentioned religious tourism and said that this will improve the lives of the local communities.
At the inauguration program of the Government Degree College (GDC) complex in Samba district of Jammu, Omar Abdullah said, “I will not consider my mission successful until students from other states start coming to Jammu and Kashmir to study. Today many of our children are forced to go to other states and countries to get a good degree. Then when tension increases in another country, the students have to face problems.”
Expressed happiness on the return of students from Iran
At the same time, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, CM Omar Abdullah said that the Government of India has brought back the children of Jammu and Kashmir safely from Iran. Along with this, the parents have also been assured that our children will be safe in other countries as well.
Emphasis on starting new academic courses
Apart from this, CM Abdullah, while responding to the demands of the students, said that the government will take appropriate action for their studies. New academic courses will be started in colleges. The CM said that health and education are of utmost importance in the development of any society.
‘Will not stop until the dreams of the youth are fulfilled’
CM Omar Abdullah said that it is the government’s commitment to improve government schools in Jammu and Kashmir and along with this the education sector will be strengthened in the Union Territory. He said that unemployment cannot be eliminated only by government jobs. The real change will come when our students will be trained in global skills. We will not stop until our goals for the youth are fully implemented.
