Security system tightened for terrorist activities
To prevent terrorist activities and ensure safe movement in Jammu and Kashmir, the army has further strengthened the security system on National Highway 44 (NH-44). This highway connects many parts of the Union Territory. The army has taken several major steps with the aim of thwarting the attempts of terrorists to use it to smuggle weapons and goods.
The army has increased patrolling on the highway day and night. Especially sensitive areas and important places are being monitored. Mobile vehicle check posts (MVCP) have been set up at many places in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police. These check posts conduct sudden checks, making it difficult for terrorists to misuse this route. Suspicious vehicles and people are being searched at these check posts.
