Jammu Kashmir Politics: Shiv Sena has demanded to declare the time limit for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. While making this demand, Shiv Sena in Jammu has said that if this demand is not met, the party will protest during the visits of Union Ministers to the state.
Shiv Sena has appealed to the people of Jammu to register their protest by wearing black bands. The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (UBT) has demanded the central government to declare a time limit for returning the statehood. The party has said that if this time limit is not declared, Shiv Sena will register its protest by wearing black bands during the visits of all Union Ministers to Jammu and Kashmir and will declare these visits as ‘Jumla Diwas’.
Party state chief Manish Sahni in Jammu has demanded from the Modi government at the Center to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing Parliament session. Sahni said that for the last five years only verbal assurances are being given on this. Questioning the intention of the central government, he said that after 2019, no proposal was put forward in any session of Parliament to restore the state status of Jammu and Kashmir. Not only this, BJP MPs from Jammu division also never raised their voice for restoration of state status during the session. Sahni said that despite claims of ‘all is well’, our state status is not being restored. At the same time, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Force has been put under the Union Home Ministry.
Recently, the LG has reminded the elected Omar government who holds the reins of power by transferring and reshuffling dozens of officers. The lack of rights with the people’s elected government proves it to be undemocratic and the right to vote is hollow. Sahni warned that if the deadline for restoration of statehood is not announced, Shiv Sainiks will protest peacefully by wearing black bands on the upcoming visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Jammu and Kashmir and on the visits of all BJP Union Ministers in future and that day will be declared as Jumla Day. Sahni has also appealed to the public to register their protest by wearing black bands and support the campaign for restoration of statehood.
