Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore has ended his 14-day long hunger strike. In a program organized near Ganga Path in Patna, he broke his hunger strike by taking a dip in the holy Ganga. Prashant Kishore was on strike on the issue of alleged irregularities in the BPSC examination and employment of students.

Prashant Kishore started this strike on January 2. He says that this step has been taken in protest against the alleged rigging in the 70th preliminary examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and the police lathicharge on the demonstration of students. Earlier, on December 30, during the student parliament held in Patna, the police lathicharged the protesting students. After this incident, Prashant Kishore started a hunger strike in support of the students.

Announcement of Ganga bath and Satyagraha

In a program organized near Ganga Path, Prashant Kishore ended his strike by taking a bath in the Ganga. Along with this, he also talked about announcing the second phase of Satyagraha. According to sources in the Jan Suraj Party, the second phase of the Satyagraha will focus on the issue of employment of students and youth. Kishore says that this strike was done to raise the voice of the students and make the government accountable.
