Jaunpur: The process of nomination for Lok Sabha elections has started in Jaunpur. On Wednesday, a candidate arrived riding on a bullock cart to file his nomination. The candidate who came out dressed as a farmer and carrying sugarcane became the center of attraction. According to the information received, National President of Samaj Vikas Kranti Party and candidate from Jaunpur Sadar Lok Sabha seat, Ashok Singh filed nomination papers in the second set on Wednesday. When Ashok Singh along with his supporters went towards the Collectorate complex in full farmer’s attire sitting on a bullock cart and holding sugarcane in his hands, he became the center of attraction for the people.

After filing nomination before the Returning Officer, Ashok Singh said that whatever candidate is contesting on this seat today. Everyone has some big stain on them. Whereas I am a resident of this district and have been working to serve the people for many years. In such a situation, if I win the elections, I will work as per the manifesto of my party.
Targeted at BSP-SP and BJP
Ashok Singh said that especially for the farmers, my party is ready to do everything which the farmers have been demanding from many governments for years. BSP, Congress and BJP always worked to confuse their voters while inflation is at its peak.
Who is Ashok Singh?
Ashok Singh is a resident of Chaturbhujpur village of Madiyahun tehsil of Jaunpur district. He has a business in Mumbai. He remained associated with BSP for a long time. He was contesting from Mumbai West Lok Sabha in 2014 on BSP ticket. In the year 2017, he contested elections from Rampur Khas assembly of Pratapgarh district but could not win. In the year 2019, he had contested the Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat as an independent candidate. He is contesting elections in 2024 on the ticket of his own party Samaj Vikas Kranti Party. The symbol of his party is a sugarcane farmer. He has contested elections from Madiyahun Assembly in 2022 from Bihar leader Mukesh Sahni’s party VIP.
