Jharkhand: A good news has come out from Chaibasa, Jharkhand. Before the Lok Sabha elections, the police and CRPF have achieved the biggest success so far in controlling the Naxalites. Amidst the implementation of the election code of conduct in the entire country, a minor Naxalite and 15 notorious Naxalites joined the mainstream and surrendered together in front of the Chaibasa police line.

These Naxalites surrendered before DIG Manoj Ratan Fourth on Thursday. The surrendered Naxalites say that they have been troubled for a long time due to the exploitation of Naxalites Patiram Majhi and Misir Besra, who had a reward of Rs 1 crore. Meanwhile, the campaign launched by the district administration to join the mainstream impressed everyone. This is the reason why we have now distanced ourselves from the bloody paths of Naxalites.

Anti-Naxal campaign continues continuously from 2022

Since 2022, the campaign against Naxalites is going on continuously in Chaibasa. From the year 2022 till now, a total of 161 Naxalites have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. A total of 11 Naxalites surrendered before the police in the years 2022 and 2023. A total of 375 explosive weapon cartridges and other items of daily use were recovered from them. Along with this, the permanent camp of Naxalites, IRB headquarters, 8 to 10 temporary camps and 15 bunkers have also been demolished. To curb the extremist activities in Chaibasa, 16 new security camps have also been constructed in the extremist police station area to maintain the sense of security in the minds of the common people.

Seraikela Kharsawan Tri Junction area for Chaibasa district has already been freed from Naxalites under this campaign, after which the campaign against Naxalites has been going on continuously for the last 2 years in the forests of Kolhan, Jism Budha Pahad, Bulbul Jungle, Includes dangerous forest areas of Khunti and Chaibasa.

At present, the main focus of police and security forces is on Saranda area. All the big Naxalites are confined in it. Their siege has been going on for several months. Thanks to Jharkhand Police and CRPF personnel, dozens of villages under the influence of Naxalites have been freed from them. However, the security forces have suffered a lot in this operation.

Now they decided to return to the mainstream and during a program organized at Chaibasa Police Line on Thursday, all the Naxalites surrendered before DIG Manoj Ratan IV, DC Kuldeep Chaudhary and SP Ashutosh Shekhar. The 14 Naxalites who surrendered have criminal history. Cases are registered against them in different police stations of Chaibasa district.

Elections can be held without fear

West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary said that this is a big achievement and this incident will make an important contribution in conducting free and fair elections without any fear in Singhbhum constituency. A statement issued from the police headquarters said that the joint security forces specifically targeted the ERB (Eastern Regional Bureau) command of the Maoists and after our sustained operations their ERB headquarters has been destroyed from Kolhan area.

People are dissatisfied with Maoist leaders

A statement said that it is very important that all these people are residents of West Singhbhum district and are dissatisfied with the misdeeds of Maoist leaders. According to the information, some Maoists who surrendered were active for seven-eight years. Many hinterlands of the Maoist stronghold of Jharkhand’s Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 13 for the first time or after a long gap of decades. Polling personnel and materials will be airlifted by helicopters to enable people living in Saranda to exercise their franchise.
