The results of the Bihar assembly elections have come as a major setback for the INDIA alliance. Following this election, political speculation has intensified in Jharkhand, a neighboring state of Bihar. Several reports claim that the state’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, might switch sides, leaving the Congress party and joining the NDA to form a government. Hemant Soren has not yet issued any statement regarding this. However, amidst the political speculation, senior Congress leader KC Venugopal has made a significant statement.
What did KC Venugopal say?
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal spoke to Hemant Soren on Wednesday. Venugopal said on X (formerly Twitter): “Spoke to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today. There should be no doubt whatsoever that our INDIA alliance in Jharkhand is completely strong and united. Our alliance is fully committed to advancing people-centric welfare policies that reflect the aspirations of every citizen of Jharkhand. The rumors being propagated by the right-wing troll network are indicative of their growing frustration and political insecurity. We are not affected by such cheap trolling, and they can never diminish the trust the people have placed in us. Our unity remains intact, our objective is clear, and our alliance is stronger than ever.”
Why did the political speculation begin?
Recently, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren traveled to Delhi and stayed there for several days. Reports claim that during this time, Hemant Soren met with a top-level BJP leader. The winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly is scheduled to begin on December 5th. Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren returned to Ranchi on Wednesday evening.
