In Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, the police is continuously running a campaign against drug smugglers. In this series, the police arrested the leader of a gang selling brown sugar and ganja. The police also handcuffed him and took him on foot on the road. The name of the accused is Pawan Kumar. Police have also arrested a woman in drug smuggling case.
Police came to know that smuggling of brown sugar, ganja and other narcotics was taking place on a large scale near Anandpuri Chowk of Sukhdev Nagar, Ranchi. On the basis of secret information, Ranchi Kotwali DSP Prakash Soy along with his team arrived in plain clothes posing as a customer and riding on an e-rickshaw.
Brown sugar seized
During the raid, the police team caught smuggler Pawan Kumar. During the search, 19 bags of brown sugar, about Rs 22 thousand in cash and ganja were recovered from him. Police raided a house in Anandpuri on the information of smuggler Pawan Kumar, who was arrested by the police. From here, Pawan’s sister-in-law Komal Devi was also arrested by the police. 31 packets of ganja have been recovered from sister-in-law Komal Devi.
Two bikes recovered
Also, a Royal Enfield Bullet bike, Pulsar bike as well as mobile and other materials have been recovered from the accused. During this, the police handcuffed smuggler Pawan Kumar and paraded him on the road. Then later the police sent brother-in-law and sister-in-law to Hotwar Jail in Ranchi. In this entire case, raids are being conducted to nab four other accused named Bablu Yadav alias Bablu Rai, Krishna Yadav, Kanhaiya Yadav and Durlabh.
Accused resident of Bihar
Police investigation has also revealed that all the accused were originally residents of Mahiuddinnagar police station of Samastipur, Bihar, who were currently living near Anandpuri Chowk of Vidyanagar under Sukhdev Nagar police station area of Ranchi. Three cases are already registered in Ranchi’s Sukhdev Nagar police station against the accused Pawan Kumar, who was caught by the police.
