A horrific rail accident was witnessed in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand on Tuesday. There was a fierce collision between two goods trains here in the early morning in which two loco pilots died. Actually, an empty goods train was hit by a goods train loaded with coal. Due to this, the engine of the goods train caught fire. Now a painful thing related to this accident has come to light. Actually, one of the loco pilots who died in the Sahibganj rail accident was about to retire on Monday.
There was a banquet plan on the day of retirement
Loco pilot Gangeshwar Mal died in a collision between two goods trains in Sahibganj, Jharkhand. He was about to retire from the job on April 1 and it was his last journey while in service. According to the information, the entire family of the loco pilot had planned to have dinner together on the day of retirement. However, now they have only memories and tears.
What did the family say?
The family of the deceased loco pilot Gangeshwar Mal lives in Jiaganj in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. According to the family, the loco pilot had promised to have dinner together after returning from work. The loco pilot’s daughter said- “April 1 was her father’s last working day. He had planned to spend a good time with his wife, son and daughter. ‘We heard that Baba (father) was waiting at the signal point on his return, when the engine of another goods train coming from the opposite direction hit his engine from the front.'”
Goods trains and tracks belong to NTPC – Railways
According to the information, two goods trains operated by NTPC collided near Bhognadih in Barhet police station area of Sahibganj at around 3 am on Tuesday. These goods trains were carrying coal to the thermal power plant in Farakka. The drivers of both the goods trains died in the head-on collision. Eastern Railway spokesperson Kaushik Mitra said- “This incident is related to the infrastructure of NTPC. The goods trains and tracks belong to NTPC. It has nothing to do with Indian Railways.”
