Junagadh court of Gujarat granted bail to Maulana Mufti Salman Azhari in the case of giving hate speech. Mufti Salman Azhari was arrested from Mumbai on Sunday.

A court in Gujarat’s Junagadh district has granted bail to Maulana Mufti Salman Azhari and two others in the ‘provocative speech’ case. In this case, Chief Judicial Magistrate S.A. Pathan granted bail to Azhari and two other persons, who had organized a religious program in Junagadh on January 31. Maulana had allegedly given an inflammatory speech in the same programme. Azhari and co-accused Mohammed Yusuf Malik and Azim Habib Odedra were produced in the court and their lawyers filed petitions for their regular bail.

Were arrested in Mumbai on Sunday
Azhari’s lawyer Shakeel Shaikh said that after hearing both the sides, the court granted him bail on a surety bond of Rs 15,000. Let us tell you that Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) had arrested Maulana in Mumbai on Sunday. After this, on Tuesday, Maulana Mufti Salman Azhari was sent to one-day police custody for giving hate speech. Maulana was brought here on transit remand. However, Junagadh Police, which is investigating the case, had requested for Azhari’s custody for 10 days. Chief Judicial Magistrate SA Pathan had sent Maulana to police custody till 4 pm on Wednesday.

What is the whole matter?
It is noteworthy that the police had on Tuesday registered another FIR against Maulana Mufti Salman Azhari for allegedly giving an inflammatory speech at a religious program in Samakhiyari of Kutch district. This is the second FIR against Azhari. Kutch (East) Superintendent of Police Sagar Baghmar had said, “An FIR has been registered against Mufti Salman Azhari for giving an inflammatory speech at a religious function held at Samakhiyari on January 31. Police permission was given for the event, but the content of the speech was similar to the Junagadh event which was (organized) on the same day.” He said Azhari has been booked under section 153B of the Indian Penal Code in connection with the event in Kutch district. And a case has been registered under section 505(2). Gujarat Police had arrested Maulana Azhari from Mumbai for allegedly delivering hate speech at an event organized in an open ground near ‘B’ Division police station in Junagadh on the night of January 31.
