Heartbreaking news has come out from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where the hobby of online betting took the life of a student. The student’s parents wanted to see him become a doctor. For this he was also getting him coaching. But he did not know that his son would start playing betting online. And one day this hobby of his will also take his life. Actually, a student studying in Coaching Mandi here committed suicide after losing money in online betting.
The matter is of Kakadev area of Kanpur. A student named Navneet Shakya was staying in a hostel here and taking coaching for NEET. His uncle was also staying here with him and taking coaching for government job. Uncle and nephew were living in the same room of the hostel. On Friday, when Navneet’s uncle went out for some work, he committed suicide by hanging himself from behind.
Uncle returned and started knocking on the door. But Navneet did not open the door. Then he suspected something untoward. Along with other students, he broke the door of the room and saw that Navneet was hanging. They immediately took him down and took him to the hospital. But doctors declared Navneet dead. The police was immediately informed about this. Police have found a suicide note from the spot.
In this Navneet wrote that he had become addicted to online betting. First he lost Rs 500 in this. After which he borrowed money from friends and played betting. While doing this he lost nine thousand rupees. He had borrowed money from his friends. He couldn’t even take money from home. His gambling addiction was also not going away. Therefore, being fed up, he ended his life. Navneet wrote in the suicide note, “Mummy and papa, I could not become an MBBS doctor, please forgive me. I borrowed money from my friends and played betting, in which I suffered a loss. You guys return their money to my friends.” Swaroop Nagar ACP Shikhar said that Navneet’s body has been post-mortemed and has been handed over to the family members. The matter is of suicide. The friends of the deceased are being interrogated.
Let us tell you that a few days ago in Armapur police station area too, an intermediate student had committed suicide after losing money in an online game. According to experts, youth are increasingly becoming fond of online games and betting, which is taking a toll on their lives. At present, DCP Central said that the student’s mobile and other things are being examined and legal action will be taken on the basis of the forensic report.
