Then suddenly a truck lost control and crossed the divider and climbed directly on the crowd. The accident was so horrific that 9 people died on the spot while more than 20 people were seriously injured.

After the accident, there was a lot of shouting on the spot and people started running here and there. Immediately after the accident, police and administrative officials reached the spot. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, many of whom are said to be in critical condition.

He said, I am shocked to hear the news of this tragic accident that took place during the Ganpati immersion procession in Hosahalli. Many devotees have lost their lives in this and more than 20 people have been injured. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He also appealed to the state government to provide free treatment to all the injured.
