A couple stayed at a small lodge called Cool Comfort in Yelahanka New Town, Bengaluru, Karnataka. A fire suddenly broke out in their room. The couple died in the incident. The boyfriend was burned to death, while the girlfriend suffocated to death in the bathroom. She was rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
The deceased girlfriend has been identified as Kaveri, and the boyfriend as Ramesh. Kaveri was already married and had three children. It is being reported that this had caused her to distance herself from Ramesh. A week ago, they had a fight over Kaveri’s separation from Ramesh. Following this, they went to a lodge a week ago to resolve the dispute.
Petrol was poured and set on fire.
The couple had been living together for a week, and everything was going well, but a fight broke out on Friday morning. In the afternoon, Ramesh went out and returned with a bottle filled with petrol. When Ramesh returned, a fight broke out between the two in the lodge room. During the altercation, Ramesh doused himself with petrol to scare Kaveri and set himself on fire.
Lover Ramesh Burned to Death
After the fire broke out, Kaveri, desperate to save her life, went to the bathroom and locked herself inside. Kaveri called the owner of a nearby spa where she was working. By then, smoke had filled the entire lodge. The alarmed lodge owner immediately alerted the fire brigade and police. The fire brigade and police broke the glass of the building and entered the room, but by then, Ramesh had been burned to death, while Kaveri had suffocated to death in the bathroom.
The couple had been staying at the lodge for a week.
Ramesh and Kaveri were residents of Gadag and Hunagunda. They had been staying at the same lodge for a week. Kaveri’s uncle’s son, Prashant, was also present in the room when Ramesh doused himself with petrol. The police recorded her statement. She said that during the fight, Ramesh doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire. “I told Kaveri to run, but she locked herself in the bathroom,” she said. Ramesh then burned to death, and Kaveri suffocated to death.
