Karnataka: In Channagiri of Davanagere, a woman along with her lover killed her husband and went to Kerala with her lover, arrested

A murder case has come to light from Channagiri in Davanagere, Karnataka. Here a wife along with her lover killed her husband. Then later she went to Kerala. However, the Channagiri police have arrested both the accused wife and her lover. Along with this, the police have also arrested a friend of the accused lover. The deceased husband has been identified as Ningappa, a resident of Annapura village in Channagiri taluka.

The name of the accused wife is Lakshmi (38). Her lover’s name is Tipesh Naik (42). The name of the third accused in this case is Santosh (40). Lakshmi and Ningappa, residents of Tyagadakatte in Honnali taluka of Davanagere district, had been married for eight years. Even after eight years of marriage, the couple did not have any children. There was no temple or hospital where Lakshmi did not go to get a child.

Had an illicit relationship with husband’s friend, got pregnant
Finally, one day she came to know that Ningappa did not have the ability to have a child. Ningappa used to work as a betel nut trader. He was friends with Tipesh Naik and Santosh. Both of them used to come to his place to work as laborers. During this time Tipesh Naik met Lakshmi. Then both of them got acquainted. Gradually the acquaintance turned into love. Not only this, after this both of them had an illicit relationship. As a result Lakshmi became pregnant.

Ningappa knew that he could not become a father, so he suspected his wife and took her to the hospital and got her abortion done. Angered by her husband’s behavior, Lakshmi hatched a conspiracy to kill her husband Ningappa. After this, on January 18, 2024, Lakshmi along with her lover Tipesh Naik took her husband Ningappa to Nallur village in Channgiri taluka on the pretext of giving a party.

The lovers killed her husband like this

There Lakshmi and Tipesh made Ningappa drink a lot of alcohol. Then they threw the drunk Ningappa into the Bhadra canal. Later, Lakshmi lodged a complaint at the Channagiri police station that her husband Ningappa slipped and fell into the Bhadra canal. Despite extensive searches by the police in the Bhadra canal, Ningappa could not be traced. Lakshmi returned to her hometown.

Meanwhile, Tipesh Naik went to Kerala for work and settled there. Later, Tipesh took his girlfriend Lakshmi to Kerala. Lakshmi left for Kerala without informing anyone in her family. Lakshmi’s family then lodged a missing complaint at the Channagiri police station. Suspicious of Lakshmi’s behaviour, the police called Tipesh Naik’s friend Santosh to the police station and questioned him.

The friend revealed the truth

Santosh confessed that Lakshmi and Tipesh Naik had an illicit relationship. When Lakshmi became pregnant, Ningappa forced her to abort the child. Angered by this, Lakshmi, along with her lover Tipesh, killed her husband Ningappa. The police then arrested the accused and sent them to jail.
