Karnataka Rajyasabha Election 2024: The controversy that started on Tuesday evening (February 27) after the victory of Congress’s Syed Naseer Hussain in the Rajya Sabha elections in Karnataka is not stopping. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and Chief Whip Doddanagouda Patil and MLC Ravikumar also lodged a complaint against Naseer Hussain at Vidhana Soudha police station late on Tuesday night. Police have started investigation in the matter.
Police say that several video recordings of the celebration by Congress workers have been collected and they will send the videos for forensic examination to verify the veracity of the claims. In fact, BJP alleges that during the celebration after Naseer Hussain’s victory, his supporters raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”.

What did the BJP state president say?
State party president BY Vijayendra attacked the Congress and said that the party is full of anti-national poison. The seditious slogan of Pakistan Zindabad is echoing in the temple of India’s democracy. Former CM Basavaraj Bommai also condemned this incident and called it an example of Congress supporting Pakistan supporters. He said, “It is a worrying incident that traitors have been given a place in the Assembly. I request the government to immediately arrest the culprits.”
BJP MLA Basanagouda R Patil also attacked the Congress on the issue, writing, “The slogans of Pakistan Zindabad prove the stand of the Congress party. “The police should immediately register a case of treason against Naseer Hussain’s supporters and crush the forces trying to break united India.”
What did JDS’s HD Kumaraswamy say?
Former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has demanded in this matter that those raising such slogans should be immediately arrested and put behind bars.
Congress gave this clarification on BJP’s allegations
The ruling Congress has rejected this allegation made by BJP. Congress says that Naseer Hussain’s supporters were raising slogans of “Naseer Saheb Zindabad” after the victory. No one has raised a slogan like Pakistan Zindabad. Naseer Hussain, who won the election, has also denied such allegations and said that some mischief could be behind this. This matter should be investigated. On the other hand, in this matter, the Chief Minister’s Office also shared a video in which the workers are shown only raising slogans of “Naseer Saab Zindabad”.
Union Minister warned of agitation in the entire state
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said, “After the victory of Naseer Hussain in the Rajya Sabha elections from the Congress party, Pakistani slogans have been raised by the Congress party workers. Instead of condemning it, Naseer Hussain is trying to mislead and is saying that someone is spreading false news, which is more dangerous. When Congress Party was in power, it used to be friends with Pakistan. Now they are directly supporting Pakistan. Therefore, I strongly condemn this and I ask Rahul Gandhi what is his opinion on this. I asked Mallikarjun Kharge what was his opinion on this? Because Naseer Hussain is a disciple of Mallikarjun Kharge. Let them explain, let them condemn it. I also urge the Home Minister of Karnataka to keep in mind the seriousness of this and take very serious and strict action on this. Otherwise, BJP will definitely agitate in entire Karnataka.
