Kerala Local Elections 2025: The second and final phase of polling for the local body elections in Kerala is being held today in 7 districts. Voting began at 7 am and will conclude at 6 pm. Voters in Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannur, Wayanad, and Kasaragod districts are casting their votes today. In this phase, more than 1.53 crore voters will elect representatives for 12,931 wards across 604 local bodies (including Gram Panchayats, Block Panchayats, District Panchayats, Municipalities, and Corporations). A total of 38,994 candidates are in the fray in these local body elections. 18,274 polling stations have been set up for the second phase, of which 2,055 have been declared sensitive. The first phase, held on December 6, recorded a total voter turnout of 70.90%. The highest turnout was in Ernakulam district at 73.96%, while the lowest was recorded in Pathanamthitta district at 66.35%. The results of the Kerala local body elections will be declared on December 13, 2025.
