Kerala Governor vs SFI: Once again a situation of conflict seems to be brewing in Kerala between SFI and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. On Saturday (January 27) in Kollam, the Students Federation of India (SFI) protested against Governor Arif Mohammad Khan by showing black flags.
Angered by this protest, the Governor clashed with the SFI workers and sat on a dharna there. At present, heavy police force is deployed at the spot. At the same time, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said, “I will not leave from here. The police is providing security to the protesters and saving those people.”
Accusations made against the police
It is being told that on Saturday (January 27), Governor Arif Mohammad Khan was going to Kottarakara to attend a program. As soon as his convoy reached Nilamel in Kollam, workers of CPIM’s student wing SFI showed him black flags in protest. Seeing this, the Governor became angry and asked the driver to stop the car and sat on strike on the roadside. He raised questions on the functioning of the police and made many allegations.
Asked to talk to Amit Shah or PM
According to sources, the Governor asked for a chair from a shopkeeper there and then took the chair and sat on the dharna, when the policemen asked him to get up, he clearly refused. The Governor alleged that the police was giving protection to SFI workers. Even after protesting, the police is not taking any action against them. In a video during the protest, Arif Mohammad Khan is telling his colleague, ‘Make Mohan talk to Amit Shah Saheb, or whoever it is, make him talk to the Prime Minister.’
SFI had demonstrated last year also
Let us tell you that in December 2023 also SFI had demonstrated against the Governor. Then the workers of Students Federation of India (SFI) in Calicut University had waved posters against Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. It was alleged that when the Governor was going to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to go to Delhi, his vehicle was hit by SFI workers. After this, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan had accused Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of conspiring to cause physical injury. The Governor had accused the Chief Minister and the state police of being behind the ongoing poster campaign against him.
