Anandu Aji, a 26-year-old software engineer from Kerala, has committed suicide. He was a resident of Kottayam. His body was found in a lodge in Thambanoor, Thiruvananthapuram. Before his suicide, Anandu accused members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of sexual abuse in an Instagram post. He described how he had been sexually abused since childhood. Since the incident surfaced, numerous questions have been raised. The Congress party has been attacking the RSS and demanding an investigation into the entire matter.
Before committing suicide, Anandu Aji wrote a note in which he described the sexual abuse he had endured since childhood, a fact from which he has yet to recover. In the note, the young man wrote that his parents had enrolled him in an RSS shakha (branch) as a child. A neighbor, NM, had abused him at the age of three. He had also experienced similar incidents at the RSS’s ITC and OTC camps.
What did he write in the suicide note?
The young man recounted almost every incident that happened to him before his suicide. Referring to this, he wrote that the cause of his death was not a relationship, but a deep hurt. The young man explained that a few years ago he was diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The cause of this was the exploitation by RSS members.
Don’t Friend with RSS Members
Anandu Aji stated that he had always suffered pain from the RSS. Despite this, he is not angry with anyone. He only addressed the organization and some individuals within it. NM was an active member of the RSS and was constantly exploited. Whenever I went to camps, I was exploited. He was also beaten with sticks several times. He further wrote, “Don’t befriend RSS members, even if they are your father, brother, or son, keep them away. I don’t have proof, but my life itself is proof of this.” He further wrote, “Childhood trauma never goes away. No child in the world should suffer such pain.”
Priyanka Gandhi Demands Investigation
Anandu Aji’s suicide has sparked a political controversy. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has demanded a thorough investigation into the allegations of serious sexual abuse against the RSS in Anandu Aji’s suicide. Priyanka Gandhi wrote on social media that Aji stated in his suicide note that he had faced repeated abuse by RSS members.
Priyanka Gandhi stated that Aji was not the only victim and that sexual abuse is widespread in RSS camps. She said that if these allegations are true, they are horrifying. She stressed that the silence surrounding these highly condemnable crimes must be broken.
DYFI Demands Arrest of the Accused
DYFI State Secretary VK Sanoj said that Aji had shared everything he had experienced, including sexual abuse, physical assault, and intimidation by his peers and senior members. Anandu Aji was an active member of the organization and had joined the organization since the age of 14. Despite this, this has happened to him. The entire matter should be investigated and the accused should be arrested.
RSS should respond to the allegations – Supriya Shrinate
Congress has made several serious allegations against the RSS in this entire matter. Supriya Shrinate wrote on the social media platform X that Anandu Aji, an IT professional from Kerala, committed suicide. In her final Instagram post, she wrote that several RSS members raped her. She had been attending RSS shakhas since childhood and had been raped since she was 3-4 years old. The RSS should respond to such a serious allegation.
Anandu should get justice at all costs – Congress
Congress stated that the young man has made serious allegations against the RSS. The entire matter should be investigated and the RSS members involved should be punished.
