New Delhi: The name of Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh ‘Ladi’ is coming to the fore in the firing case at Cups Cafe, a restaurant opened by comedian Kapil Sharma in Canada. Harjeet Singh alias Ladi has reportedly taken responsibility for the attack. Since then Indian intelligence agencies are on high alert.
Who is Harjeet Singh ‘Ladi’?
Harjeet Singh ‘Ladi’ is a key member of the banned Khalistani terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) based abroad.
Ladi is considered a key figure in the group’s overseas coordination network and is believed to play a key role in financing, recruiting and directing terrorist operations in India, especially Punjab.
Ladi is accused of masterminding several murders, including the murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar in April 2024. His name has also surfaced in attacks on right-wing leaders.
Ladi is believed to work on the instructions of Wadhawa Singh Babbar, the head of Pakistan-based BKI.
Indian security agencies say he is part of a wider international network that aims to destabilise Punjab through terror attacks, as well as carry out its activities using safe havens in Europe.
India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has included Ladi in its most wanted fugitives and has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for credible information leading to his arrest.

No one reported injured in the firing
Let us tell you that an incident of firing has come to light at the recently opened new restaurant of comedian Kapil Sharma in Surrey, Canada. No one is reported to be injured in the firing. The Surrey Police Service (SPS) said that it acted on a call received from a business establishment at 1:50 am local time on Wednesday. According to reports, Kapil Sharma’s Cups Cafe was attacked. There has been no response from Kapil’s team yet.
