Kolkata Rape Murder case: Sanjay Roy, accused of raping and murdering a trainee doctor in Kolkata, was subjected to a polygraph test at the Presidency Jail on Sunday. Was the CBI able to extract the truth?

Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the rape case at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, was subjected to a polygraph test at the Presidency Jail on Sunday. Along with this, polygraph tests of some other people are going on at the CBI office in CGO Complex, Salt Lake. Sanjay Roy’s polygraph test was conducted from 12:30 to 3:00 pm. After a long interrogation with expert doctors and various equipment, CBI officials have come out of the Presidency Jail. What new information has come to the hands of the officials after interrogation with the prescribed questions and various test materials is yet to be revealed.

In the case of rape-murder of a trainee doctor, civic volunteer Sanjay Roy was arrested by Kolkata Police on the second day of the incident. After the arrest, Sanjay Roy himself confessed to the crime, but since the CBI has taken over the investigation, he is constantly changing his statement. He had declared himself innocent in the Sealdah Court. He was not giving clear answers even during the CBI interrogation. Inconsistencies were constantly being found in his statement.

According to sources of the central investigation agency, Sanjay Roy tried to mislead the CBI by giving different information one by one while in custody. The reason for entering the hospital, the time of entering the hospital, the reason for entering the seminar hall of the hospital or even from the seminar hall to the murder, he is constantly changing his statement in all the cases.

After that, his polygraph test became necessary. The CBI had pleaded for a polygraph test in Sealdah Court. The court had given permission for polygraph test of a total of seven people including Sanjay Roy. After the consent of these accused, polygraph test was conducted on four people on Saturday. On Sunday, polygraph test was conducted on Sanjay Roy and three more people.

Earlier on Saturday, a team of CBI had gone to Presidency Jail. The civic volunteer arrested on the court’s order is in the VIP ward of Presidency Jail. The CBI visited Presidency Jail on Saturday and investigated the matter of polygraph test. The investigators also talked to the jail officials about where the test would be conducted, what equipment would be required for the test, etc.

CBI raids 15 locations

CBI again went to Presidency Jail on Sunday morning. According to sources, the process of polygraph test started from the morning itself. This process continued till 3 pm. On the other hand, CBI officials are also conducting polygraph test of two medical students at CGO Complex.

Meanwhile, 15 teams of CBI raided different parts of the city on Sunday morning to investigate the financial corruption case of RG Kar. At around 6:30 am, CBI went to the house of RG Kar’s resigned principal Sandeep Ghosh and is questioning him. CBI has also raided the houses of former RG Kar Superintendent Sanjay Vashisht and another doctor Debashish Som in Kestpur.
