Ladakh Statehood Demands: Thousands of people in Kargil took out a rally from Fatima Chowk to Hussaini Park on Wednesday (20 March) demanding full statehood before the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and roared in support of their demands. KDA co-chairman Asghar Ali Karbalai said, “Everyone in Ladakh is part of the movement and is united in support of the demands. Karbalai said the leadership of both the KDA and the apex body are meeting soon in Leh or Kargil to chalk out the future strategy following the Center’s rejection of its main demands – statehood under the Sixth Schedule and constitutional safeguards.
