A passenger was arrested at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) Airport in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, early Saturday after cartridges were found in his luggage. Police said the arrested youth has been identified as Irfan Ahmed (27), a resident of Malikpur village in Nawabganj police station area of Prayagraj.
According to a complaint lodged by the airport supervisor, an eight mm cartridge was recovered from Irfan Ahmed’s bag during security check. Following this, the police took immediate action and arrested Irfan Ahmed under the Arms Act and registered a case.
Man consumes poison near Chief Minister’s residence
In another news, a 45-year-old man consumed poisonous substance at La Martiniere intersection near the Chief Minister’s residence in Lucknow on Friday. Police said Ajay Kumar alias Dharmesh Kumar, a resident of Bulandshahr, was rushed to a government hospital. Officials said his condition is now stable. According to the police, at around 9.20 am, the police received information that a person was vomiting and his health was bad. Police said that after reaching the spot, it was found that he had consumed poison, after which he was taken to the hospital. According to the police, during preliminary interrogation, Ajay Kumar revealed that he took this step due to a long-standing dispute with the electricity department.
He claimed that in 2014, a transformer of his flour mill in Bulandshahr had burnt due to overload. Police said that a new transformer also got damaged soon after it was installed. According to Kumar, the electricity department had allegedly demanded 70 percent of the cost of the new transformer from him, which he was unable to pay. Kumar claimed that due to this his business has been closed for more than a decade. The local police is now contacting their counterparts in Bulandshahr to confirm his statement.
