In such a situation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is trying to blossom in Tamil Nadu, has suffered a major setback. Actually, here BJP leader Vidya Rani has left the saffron party. She has joined Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK).

NTK has fielded Vidya from Krishnagiri seat. Vidya Rani is the daughter of notorious sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. Earlier it was believed that BJP could field her, but she changed the party for the ticket and now she will contest on NTK ticket. BJP, which is trying to establish its presence in South India, may suffer a big loss due to Vidya’s separation from the party.

Vidya has been active in politics for a long time and has been the vice president of BJP’s Tamil Nadu youth wing. He played an important role in strengthening BJP in Tamil Nadu, but now he has changed sides. However, it is not so easy for him to win the Krishnagiri seat. 26 candidates have filed nomination for this seat. These include three-time Congress MLA Gopinath.

Krishnagiri is the stronghold of Congress
Krishnagiri Lok Sabha constituency of Tamil Nadu is traditionally a Congress stronghold. In all the Lok Sabha elections held so far, the Congress Party seems to have the upper hand. Congress Party has won the Lok Sabha elections here 9 times so far. At the same time, DMK won the election five times, AIADMK thrice and Tamil Manila Congress candidate won once. In 2019, A Chellakumar of Congress Party had won the Lok Sabha elections from here.

Voting will take place on April 19
This time the Lok Sabha elections are to be held in 7 phases. Whereas, if we talk about Tamil Nadu, the first phase of voting for 39 seats will be held on April 19, while the election results will be known on June 4.
