Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: The results of Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be declared today i.e. on June 4 at 8 am. Elections have been held in 7 phases on 543 Lok Sabha seats of the country. However, even before the counting of votes started, BJP has taken a 1-0 lead. The results of Surat Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat have been released even before the counting of votes. This is the first time in the electoral history of Gujarat that the result of a Lok Sabha seat has been released before counting.

11 candidates had filed nomination

The Election Commission declared Mukesh Dalal of Bharatiya Janata Party as the unopposed winner on Surat seat of Gujarat. Actually, the situation on this Lok Sabha seat was such that the BJP candidate had to be declared the winner. A total of 11 candidates had filed nomination papers for Surat Lok Sabha seat, but out of these 9 candidates withdrew their names. After this, Mukesh Dalav of BJP and Nilesh Kumbhani of Congress party were the two candidates left on this seat. The name of the Congress candidate was rejected due to technical reasons, due to which BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was declared the unopposed winner from Surat Lok Sabha seat.

BJP wins by a big margin
Talking about Surat Lok Sabha seat, it is considered one of the safest seats for BJP. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won here by a big margin. BJP MP Darshan Vikram Jardosh got 7 lakh 95 thousand 651 votes from here. He defeated his nearest rival Ashok Patil of Congress party by a margin of 5.5 lakh votes. The Congress candidate got only 2 lakh 47 thousand votes here. In 2014 also, Vikram Jardosh was victorious from Surat Lok Sabha seat. Even then he defeated his nearest rival Naishadh Bhupatbhai Desai of Congress party by a margin of 5 lakh 33 thousand votes.
